Gloomy Manor Gem locations in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD

Today, we’re going over all of the locations for the Gloomy Manor Gems in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.

Gems – or in the case of Gloomy Manor, Amethysts – are the main collectible found in the game. They’re scattered throughout various missions, and they’re all rather tricky to find. Some of them require the Dark-Light Device, which you don’t obtain until Gloomy Manor’s fourth mission. This means you’ll need to complete that mission and then revisit the first three levels if you want to get all the collectibles.

Gem #1 (Mudroom Exterior, A-1)

After obtaining the Poltergust, head through the Mudroom to the Mudroom Exterior to find the first of the Gloomy Manor Gems stuck in a tree.

Gem #2 (Front Yard, A-1)

You’ll need the Strobulb for this one. Head to the front yard and flash the pink flowers here, and one of them will reveal a hidden Amethyst.

Gem #3 (Parlor, A-2)

The clock to the left of this area has a green interface. Flash it with your Strobulb and it will reveal another hidden Amethyst!

Gem #4 (Studio, A-2)

This is one of the trickier Gloomy Manor Gems, but we’ll tell you about its location here. Head to the Studio and stand in front of the camera. You’ll see an alternate angle of the room that shows an Amethyst stuck in some cobwebs. Leave the camera and use the Poltergust to suck behind the curtains off to the left and you’ll be able to claim it!

Gem #5 (Entrance, A-3)

Press X to investigate the armor on the right and its helmet will pop off. Suck up the helmet and then head to the left of this room and look up. You’ll see a painting of a helmet – shoot the helmet at the painting to reveal this tricky gem.

Gem #6 (Dining Room, A-3)

Look up here to find a safe on the ceiling. Flash it with your Strobulb to reveal another gem.

Gem #7 (Kitchen, A-3)

Head to the kitchen and open the fridge here. Suck up the ice block and then hold it over the stove to thaw it out and receive another one of the Gloomy Manor Gems.

Gem #8 (Foyer, A-4)

There’s a hidden door in the patio that you can reveal with the Dark-Light Device. Enter this room and look up – you can suck in this Gem to claim it for yourself.

Gem #9 (Patio, A-4)

Still in the patio, there is a group of two fish statues. Reveal a hidden third one to the left with your Dark-Light Device to receive another one of the Gloomy Manor Gems.

Gem #10 (Library, A-4)

Use your Dark-Light Device toward the left of the bottom floor of the library to reveal a hidden globe. Suck it up with the Poltergust and then burn it in the fireplace to receive another gem!

Gem #11 (Study, A-5)

Use the Poltergust to remove the curtains on the painting. Then, use your Dark-Light Device on it to find another one of the Gloomy Manor Gems.

Gem #12 (Attic, A-5)

At the right end of the attic is a dresser with an amethyst on top. Use your Poltergust to claim this one!

Gem #13 (Bedroom, A-5)

You can get to the bedroom in previous missions, but you can’t actually obtain the gem until A-5. Blow the fan around to ignite the web ball on the nearby stove. It’ll then burn up the webs, allowing you to reach this gem. With that, those are all of the locations for the Gloomy Manor Gems in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.
