MapleStory DS could see overseas release as 3DS digital download

The history behind Nexon’s MapleStory DS is pretty incredible. It was announced for the DS way back in 2006. Nintendo finally published the title in Korea back in 2010, and it made its way to Japan late last year.

Could a North American/European version be possible as well? Dirctor Hong Sungjoon has said that Nexon will consider releasing the game overseas as a download on 3DS. By that, he likely means distributing the title on the eShop.

Sungjoon said:

“In reality, we think it is now too difficult to publish it as a package in America and Europe. However, we will consider if it is possible to publish it in the form of a download on Nintendo 3DS.”
