Mega Man 11 becomes the best-selling game in the series
Mega Man 11 has taken the crown as the series’ best-selling game, according to the latest data from Capcom.
As relayed by Rockman Corner, Mega Man 11 sold 1.60 million units across all platforms. That’s based on sales through September 30, 2022.
Mega Man 2 previously held the record as the franchise’s best-selling title. The game, which launched in 1988, sold 1.51 million copies. It took over thirty years for Mega Man to have a new best seller.
Mega Man started out on the NES in 1987. The series is primarily an action platformer experience, but different games in the franchise have experimented with other genres.
A number of Mega Man games are already on Switch. Outside of Mega Man 11, fans can revisit past core entries with Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2. Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 are also on the platform, along with Mega Man Zero / ZX Legacy Collection. Next year, Capcom will release Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection 1 and 2, which features several tactical RPGs originally made for the Game Boy Advance – you can read more about it here.
