More details on the official Nintendo Power podcast, magazine not returning

The Nintendo Power magazine ended its run back in 2012. But at the very end of 2017, Nintendo brought back the brand as part of a new, official podcast.
Nintendo Life has learned that staffers at Nintendo of America began to discuss the idea of a podcast in summer 2016. Steve Norman, who leads the way on social media for Nintendo, felt that it should feature the Nintendo Power name.
Currently the plan is to have one episode done each month, though things could ramp up depending on demand. Everything is still a work in progress. That being said, the current focus is offering a look inside Nintendo of America. Guests from Nintendo of Europe and the company’s headquarters in Japan will also appear. And as the team waits on feedback, more sections from the original magazine could return, such as Warp Zone Quiz on the first episode.
Unfortunately, while the Nintendo Power name is being used in spirit, the magazine itself won’t be returning. Podcast host Chris Slate and former editor-in-chief of the magazine said, “It’s a challenging industry to enter these days.”
