New Shantae game in development

WayForward is making a brand new Shantae game, the studio has confirmed.

Unfortunately, that’s pretty much the only bit of information we have at the moment. WayForward’s Matt Bozon appeared during today’s LRG3 event to deliver the news.

Below is what WayForward passed along about the announcement:

Following the highly anticipated release of the previous Shantae game this past August comes the announcement that the next, all-new, seventh entry in the fan-favorite series is already under development by Shantae series director/co-creator Matt Bozon and his team. Though no gameplay details are available at this time, the announcement was accompanied by a new piece of teaser artwork featuring series protagonist Shantae and her nemesis, nefarious pirate Risky Boots, both with subtle revisions to their designs, including new hair styles. No platforms or release window have been revealed; further information will be shared at a future date.
