Nintendo confirms it won’t be at E3 2023, statement released
Nintendo has made it official that it will not be attending E3 2023. Additionally, an official statement has been released.
The main takeaway is that Nintendo said that “this year’s E3 show didn’t fit into our plans”. The company did acknowledge that it has “been and continue to be a strong supporter of the ESA and E3.”
The full statement reads about Nintendo skipping E3 2023 is as follows:
“We approach our involvement in any event on a case-by-case basis and are always considering various ways to engage with our fans. Since this year’s E3 show didn’t fit into our plans, we have made the decision to not participate. However, we have been and continue to be a strong supporter of the ESA and E3.”
Last month, there was talk that Nintendo – along with PlayStation and Xbox – would be skipping E3 entirely. The Big N’s absence is perhaps the biggest surprise given how long it’s been involved with the show. Still, Nintendo has plenty of ways to communicate news with fans such as Nintendo Directs and social media.
E3 2023 will take place between June 13 and June 16. Organizers have not yet confirmed the attendees, but Ubisoft has thus far committed to the show.
