Mario Party: Island Tour includes fairly extensive local multiplayer (especially when it comes to Download Play), but there won’t be any online play.

A few new details about the game are in as well. Island Tour contains 80 mini-games and 7 game boards which can be played alone or with others. Shown previously, AR Cards are used for some mini-games. StreetPass features are included, too.

1,001 Spikes features characters from other indie titles, like Nyx from NyxQuest. Others additions to the roster include President Thompson, Sugimoto, and a random zombie from 8-Bits Fanatics’ title.

Those who take on Thompson will be able to use his machine gun while Sugimoto has his katana. Zombie has a unique ability in that he can take one hit and survive – other characters perish after a single blow.

Similar to Mario Party DS, Mario Party: Island Tour contains Download Play functionality. And even if the other 3DS users you’re playing with don’t have the 3DS cartridge, they’ll be given access to the full game during local multiplayer. It’s a pretty nice feature!

Ubisoft is bringing a pair of games to this year’s New York Comic-Con. Watch_Dogs as well as South Park: The Stick of Truth will have a presence at the expo next weekend.

Attendees can expect the following from Watch_Dogs’ appearance:

At the Watch Dogs theater, the adversarial mode of the companion app, Watch Dogs – ctOS Mobile, will be highlighting some of the ways players can invade other players’ games within the world of Watch Dogs. Watch Dogs – ctOS Mobile delivers revolutionary dual-screen gameplay and takes the player’s experience beyond the console. A real-time companion game, Watch Dogs – ctOS Mobile allows users to connect and compete with each other from anywhere, at any time. In Watch Dogs, players will take on the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Fans who pre-order Watch Dogs from Amazon.com will receive an exclusive free t-shirt (while supplies last).

Ubisoft will also be running a competition, which initially began at PAX Prime:

The two apps created for Pokemon X and Y are due out on December 27. Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter will be available on the same day, with the former carrying an annual fee of $4.99.

More information about both apps can be found here.
