Update: Just to be clear, reader Craig tells us that after contacting the retailer, they explained that the price reduction was initiated due to a lack of profit from the stock and needing to make back some money. So this wasn’t so much a move to boost Wii U sales as it was to help out Asda.
Just as it did in May, Asda has dropped the Wii U’s price for a second time. It’s a pretty major cut – the Premium Set is now available for £199. The Basic Set, on the other hand, is just £149.99.
This isn’t a universal official price drop, but it goes to show that retailers are more than willing to host a big sale for the Wii U in light of struggling sales.
