Rumor: Fortnite files contain “SquidKid” references

Fortnite dataminer HYPEX has apparently uncovered some interesting information from the game’s files. A skin and backbling have been found, along with references to “SquidKid”.
The full file names are as follows:
-CID_TBD_Athena_Commando_M_SquidKid
-BID_TBD_SquidKid
The first thoughts fans are having is that Fortnite could be teaming up with Splatoon in some fashion. Squidkid is a well-known term in Nintendo’s franchises that has ties to the Inklings.
Of course, this is far from a confirmation of any sort of crossover. These files could be innocuous references, or may involve something else completely separate from Splatoon.
