Sony CEO saw The Super Mario Bros. Movie, says Mario is a beautiful and wonderful IP
Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida is apparently a big fan of Mario, to the point where he actually went to see The Super Mario Bros. Movie recently.
Yoshida has also said that Mario is a beautiful and wonderful IP. Back in the day – or specifically 30 years ago – he played the franchise intensely.
Yoshida had this to say as well: “A lovable IP can survive 30, 50, or 100 years. That is something we would like to make investment into for sustainable growth.”
Yoshida is just one of many that has seen The Super Mario Bros. Movie since its release in April. The film has broken many records and amassed a ton of revenue having previously crossed the $1 billion mark.
Even more fans now have access to the movie. Earlier this week, it was made available for digital purchase online in the U.S., so folks in North America aren’t limited to seeing it in theaters.
