Square Enix announces Star Ocean: The Second Story R for Switch

Square Enix is bringing Star Ocean: The Second Story R to Switch, the company announced today. The release date has been confirmed for November 2, 2023.
Star Ocean: The Second Story originally released for the PlayStation in 1998 in Japan, with the North American and European launch rolling out over the following years. It’s not the first time the RPG is seeing a re-release as an updated version known as Star Ocean: Second Evolution first appeared on the PSP.

Star Ocean: The Second Story R will be the first time this title is appearing on a Nintendo platform. Star Ocean First Departure R, an updated version of the series’ first entry, is currently available on the eShop.
