Switch update out now (version 14.1.2), patch notes
The latest Switch system update has just arrived, as Nintendo has just issued version 14.1.2. All Switch users can download it now.
Keeping in line with most firmware changes, today’s patch notes are on the milder side. Nintendo mentions: “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.”
Switch update version 14.1.1 released in April, and the patch notes were the same as today. Prior to that, we saw version 14.1.0 during the same month. This was also wasn’t too significant, though it did add a new “Platinum Points Notification Settings” that provides users with a notification about unclaimed points as part of the My Nintendo rewards program.
Nintendo issued the last major firmware update for Switch in March, which was version 14.0.0. It came with groups so that users could more easily sort software on the home menu plus changes to Bluetooth audio volume behavior. We have more information about that update here.
Those looking to download the 14.1.2 update for Switch can force the download to install now by going over to the system settings, scrolling down to the “System” tab, and hitting the “System Update” button. For everyone else, it should eventually be downloaded on its own.
