A big “Beneath and Beyond” update has just landed in Cattle Country, Playtonic Friends and Castle Pixel’s frontier life sim.

The update includes an expanded mining system, allowing players to delve deeper into the land they call home. Users can unearth rare minerals, uncover hidden mining objects like torches, ladders and dynamite, and maybe even stumble upon a few long-lost bandit treasures. There are also quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.

Playtonic and Castle Pixel just came through with a release date for Cattle Country, their cozy cowboy adventure life sim. It’ll be heading to Nintendo Switch on May 27, 2025.

Cattle Country was one of the last Nintendo Switch announcements we received last year. The most recent launch window given was early 2025, but the game needed a bit more time to wrap up development.
