Here’s an overview of the game:

Dragon Ball The Breakers Bulma Oolong

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is doing something quite different for the franchise since it has you playing as “Survivors” like Bulma and Oolong or the “Raiders”, which include Cell, Frieza, and Kid Buu. Typically the Dragon Ball titles we’ve seen recap the series in an arena brawler or RPG format. The Breakers, however, is an asymmetrical action game where the Raiders try to hunt down the Survivors.

With such a different take on Dragon Ball games, it’s perhaps not a surprise that there was some uncertainty within the team initially. Producer Ryosuke Hara said in a recent interview that “the point was raised that fans might not want to play as comparatively weak characters like Bulma or Oolong.” In the end though, everyone “came around to liking the idea and gave us the go-ahead.”

Dragon Ball The Breakers story single player

Dragon Ball: The Breakers producer Ryosuke Hara has shared more information about the game, including what to expect from the story and single-player. This comes as part of a recently-published interview from Bandai Namco.

As for the story in Dragon Ball: The Breakers, Hara had this to say:

Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2022

Bandai Namco has announced Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2022, an online event broadcast worldwide featuring the latest news about manga, animation, video games, and action figures related to the franchise.

Several titles have already been confirmed for the show. The upcoming Switch title Dragon Ball: The Breakers will see the game producer playing and elaborating on the recently announced title. Other featured games include Dragon Ball FighterZ, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Dragon Ball Legends, Dragon Ball Super Card Game, Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, and Super Dragon Ball Heroes.

Following last week’s announcement of Dragon Ball: The Breakers, Bandai Namco and Dimps have come out with an eleven-minute trailer that provides a closer look at actual gameplay.

Dragon Ball The Breakers

Bandai Namco and Dimps have just announced Dragon Ball: The Breakers, a new asymmetrical online multiplayer game. The title will launch for Switch and other platforms sometime in 2022.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is set in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse universe and has fans playing as one of the iconic rivals of the franchise, the “Raider”, or one of the seven “Survivors” with no super powers. The Raider will need to use its power to eliminate the “Survivors”. These regular civilians have been caught in something known as a “Temporal Seam”, trapping them in a place where space and time are in disarray. They’ll need to cooperate in order to push back the Raider and escape using the Super Time Machine. An aspect of the game involves using items on the field and escaping the field strategically.
