Metroid’s original composer shares a message for the series’ 30th anniversary, sound collage

Composer and sound designer Hirokazu “Hip” Tanaka has worked on a number of Nintendo releases over the years – especially during the early days of gaming. One of his more well-known projects is Metroid, which just happened to have celebrated its 30th anniversary. In honor of the big event, Tanaka shared a special message attached below:
Aside from the message, Tanaka also put together a collage using sounds from the original NES game. That can be heard below.

Creatures president Hirokazu Tanaka shares a message for Pokemon’s 20th anniversary

In celebration of Pokemon’s 20th anniversary, a bunch of people have been sending in video messages ranging from developers to celebrities. The fun continues today with a new one from Creatures president Hirokazu “Hip” Tanaka. View it below.
In addition to the Pokemon trading card game and toys, Creatures has developed several titles in the series. That includes Pokemon Ranger, PokePark, and Detective Pikachu.
