Dragon Quest X for 3DS

Dragon Quest X is coming to the 3DS, Square Enix announced today. The game will be available in Japan on September 4 for 3,800 yen.

On 3DS, Dragon Quest X looks to be the same full-fledged experience currently available on Wii U, Wii, and PC. You’ll also be able to play the handheld release with players in the other versions.

Also worth noting, Dragon Quest X for 3DS makes use of streaming technology. 3D will not be supported.

Though the game is already out in the West and has been out in Japan for even longer, the demo for Bravely Default was just updated on the Japanese eShop. Up to Chapter 4 of the game is now playable and the full game update is available for purchase for 2000 yen, unlocking the voice acting along with the remaining content.

In Japan, Square Enix has released four more downloadable tracks and one new character for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call.

Square Enix has been sharing more information about Final Fantasy Explorers on its Twitter account. Find the latest details about the 3DS game below.

– The game will have equipment that might bring back memories from the earlier days of the franchise
– The characters we’ve seen thus far have been wearing the default equipment for their respective jobs
– Character appearance changes when you change equipment
– Initially start out with weak gear
– As you collect new material to create better weapons and armor, you’ll be able to take on stronger monsters

Square Enix has made two Theatrhythm games thus far, both of which are completely Final Fantasy-oriented. Where can the series go from here – if anywhere?

While not at all confirmed, Theathrhythm producer Ichiro Hazama recently hinted to GameSpot that other series could be considered. He said that he’s “thinking about other titles with music that we produce”. Make of that what you will!

“This is just my own broad thinking, but we’re probably going to draw the line on Final Fantasy. This will be the last Theatrhythm featuring Final Fantasy. I’m thinking about other titles with music that we produce, we can do something with that.”
