Nintendo will be removing The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokemon from the Japanese 3DS eShop next Tuesday, it has been announced. The game was released in June and was created in conjunction with Pokemon XY The Movie – The Cocoon of Destruction & Diancie. The film’s run ends in most theaters on September 30.

The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokemon is out now in Japan. As reported by Serebii, the game only takes up 579 blocks. That amounts to 72.3MB – small for sure!

New screenshots and details for The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokemon have come in through the game’s official website. You can find the latest batch of content below.
– Select the lead Pokemon to attack when you begin
– You can then change the Pokemon you use as previous explained
– Pokemon will disappear after you use them
– As a result, you’ll need to keep StreetPassing others
– The lead Pokemon of the person you pass determines which Pokemon you get
– Ex: if they lead with Froakie, you’ll get Froakie
– You can also buy Pokemon using Game Coins, but you’ll only get the Pokemon that matches your lead
– Game’s purpose is to bring back treasure that has been stolen by the thieves Marilyn and Riot
– Marilyn appears in Stage 4 with her Delphox
– Clear the game by beating Greninja and Delphox
– You have to decide how many Pokemon to use in each battle, based on your opponent’s strength
– Using too many up in a single battle may mean you will lose the next one because you have too few Pokmon left
– Can attempt to sneak past opponents to skip the stage, but if they spot you, the battle will commence

The official site for The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokémon was recently updated, detailing release info and providing us with the first screenshots of the game:
- The game will be available from June 5th through to September 30th 2014 and will have the same setting as the movie
- It will have some connection with Pokémon X & Y through the completion of challenges in the game
- StreetPassing other players increases your army size

This month’s edition of Japanese magazine CoroCoro has revealed a new StreetPass game for 3DS owners. The newly announced Pokémon themed game, The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokémon, will be released on the eShop in Japan for a limited time starting from the 4th of June. The title is a free download is said to offer a special Pikachu for download, which will presumably tie in with the main series of games.
The aim of the game is to try and collect as many Pokémon through StreetPass as you can who can then go on to battle thieves. Battles will be decided by the number of Pokémon you have.
The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokémon is being released to tie in with the release of the 17th Pokémon movie in Japan, and thus the game features the main characters from the film.
