Tales of Xillia 2 Remastered confirmed, new remaster announcement coming “fairly soon”
Tales of Xillia 2 doesn’t have a remaster yet, but that’ll be changing in the future. Bandai Namco has reaffirmed that such a project is underway.
Tales of producer Yusuke Tomizawa spoke about the status of the series’ remasters in an interview with Famitsu this week. To start off, he was asked how many games are in the pipeline:
“We have formed a team with several development partners, and we have more than two titles in the works, from the verification stage to the final stages of development. In 2025, we were able to announce and release Graces F and Xillia. However, we will continue to consider and develop the remaster project. However, the pace of releases will depend on the status of consideration and development, so it may be faster or slower. Even so, we hope to deliver as many titles as possible to everyone as quickly as possible.”
In response to the above, Tomizawa was asked if the next remaster project will be announced soon. While details can’t be divulged just yet, he teased that it will be revealed “fairly soon.”
Finally, as for a remaster of Tales of Xillia 2 specifically, Tomizawa stated:
“As I mentioned earlier, our policy for this remaster project is to announce and release everything as soon as it’s completed, with an emphasis on speed. The same goes for Xillia 2, which is still in development so we haven’t announced anything yet. We’ll do our best to provide you with updates as soon as possible.”
Tales of Xillia Remastered will be heading to Nintendo Switch next Thursday. We recently rounded up all of the improvements and additions, which you can find here (there’s quite a bit that’s new).
