The Legend of Zelda movie release date revealed, coming in 2027

Nintendo just revealed the release date for its live action movie based on The Legend of Zelda. The film debuts on March 26, 2027.

That news comes straight from Nintendo itself. In the company’s news-launched Nintendo Today app, brief a video was posted with the release date. It does not provide any other information such as casting details.

The live-action movie for The Legend of Zelda was announced towards the end of 2023. As previously mentioned, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto will be a producer alongside Avi Arad, chairman of Arad Productions Inc. Wes Ball is the project’s director.

Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. are co-financing the movie. Sony Pictures is handling the theatrical distribution.

The Nintendo Today app was just announced and released yesterday as part of a Nintendo Direct presentation. Those who use it can look forward to “a variety of content including latest news, videos, and comics of your favorite Nintendo games and characters from select franchises.” Given today’s movie announcement, it seems that Nintendo is also more than willing to share major news on there first.
