Varia Games takes ReVeN to Kickstarter

Varia Games has launched a Kickstarter for ReVeN. Those interested in the project can back the game here.
ReVeN is described as “a 2D shooter/platformer EVOLVED that will take you back to the good old days of classics like Metroid and Megaman while adding gameplay twists using our EDM system to add RPG elements that can be found in Crysis and Deus Ex.” Quite a bit to take in on that statement alone, though the video above should give you a better idea as to what the team has in store.
Varia Games hopes to raise $18,000 for ReVeN by February 22. The Kickstarter just went live yesterday, but has already raised $1,800.
