A comprehensive graphics comparison has come in for Super Mario Galaxy, putting the Wii, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2 versions of the game up against each other.

Wii is of course the very original release. Following that, the Super Mario 3D All-Stars version is included. The last part of the equation is the new Nintendo Switch edition showing it on that console as well as on Switch 2.

If you’re interested in the absolute highest visual quality, then the version that came out on Nintendo Switch today might be for you. It’s 1080p on Nintendo Switch, but 4K on Switch 2. Handheld resolutions are 720p and 1080p respectively. A few graphical adjustments and gameplay features are also included – find out what’s new here.
