Nippon Ichi Software has readied a new set of details and screenshots for void* tRrLM2(); //Void Terrarium 2. Today’s update covers a whole bunch of mechanics on how to develop and decorate your terrarium, as well general game flow.

Terrarium

  • void tRrLM2(); //Void Terrarium 2 features a new Terrarium
  • You can grow plants with Toriko and dress her up
  • Without regular play Toriko will begin to sulk
  • You can sow seeds and grow plants in the Terrarium
  • Adjust temperature and humidity levels to optimize plant growth
  • Manage the temperature and humidity so Toriko doesn’t get sick
  • Harvest grown plants to obtain seeds, objects and recipes
  • The atmosphere of the Terrarium will change depending on the objects you place
  •  The atmosphere will cause changes in the background music and elicit different reactions from Toriko
  • New outfits and hairstyles have been added to Toriko’s wardrobe so she can match the Terrarium’s atmosphere
  • Find recipes to upgrade your closet
  • When you come back from exploring, Toriko may even be dressed in her favorite clothes.
  • As you progress through the game you will be able to manage multiple terrariums
  • Create terrariums with different environments and themes to efficiently take care of Toriko
  • Build a greenhouse to grow plants more efficiently
  • Build a playroom with lots of toys to let Toriko play as much as possible

Game Flow

  • Take care of Toriko in a survival environment known as a “terrarium”
    • As a robot, care for Toriko by feeding her, treating her and fleshing out her environment so she is satisfied while you are out exploring
  • Explore dungeons and gather the things you need to care for Toriko
    • Dungeons are randomly generated and will change form each time you enter
    • Items acquired while exploring can be used in combat
    • After you finish exploring, you can bring back the items you acquired as “resources”
    • You can still bring back items even if you are defeated in battle
    • New dungeons will also appear, including deserts and crystalized areas, with certain items and recipes unique to each stage
  • Use resources to craft items.
    • Items acquired while exploring dungeons can be converted into “resources” and brought back to the terrarium
    • Use resources and recipes to craft terrarium decorations and items
    • Crafting can also trigger a craft bonus which increases the robot’s stats (ATK, DEF, HP) while exploring and can make exploration more pleasant by increasing Toriko’s feeling of fullness and the terrarium’s resistance to contamination
  • Decorate your terrarium with crafted decorations
    • Use crafted decorations and items to decorate your terrarium
    • The atmosphere of the terrarium and Toriko’s behavior will change depending on the objects used
    • Toriko can play with the furniture and toys you place in the terrarium

void* tRrLM2(); //Void Terrarium 2 is set to release on Switch on June 30, 2022 in Japan. A western launch has not yet been confirmed, but it will likely be released in North America and Europe at a later date similar to the original game.
