Well, at least Nintendo of America remembered Metroid’s 25th anniversary

As far as we know, Nintendo isn’t doing anything special for Metroid’s anniversary. Zelda, on the other hand, will see symphony concerts around the world, two soundtracks, a special gold Wiimote, a Flipnote Studio competition, and the release of five games – Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time 3D, Link’s Awakening DX on the eShop, Four Swords DSiWare, and the original Zelda for the NES portion of the 3DS Ambassador program.

The only acknowledgment Nintendo is giving Metroid is in the form of the tweet above. I suppose we should be happy that Nintendo of America even remembered that the series turned 25 last week! It’s sad to see Samus fly under the radar, though. Sure, Metroid isn’t as popular as Zelda, but it’s still a treasured franchise that has been around just as long.
