Wolfenstein: Youngblood FAQ – Panic Button making the Switch version, cosmetic microtransactions, no lootboxes, more

This week, Bethesda finally announced that Wolfenstein: Youngblood will indeed be coming to Switch. The first-person co-op shooter launches July 26.

Following up on the news, Bethesda published an official FAQ that shares a bit of additional information about the game. We learn that Panic Button is developing the Switch version (which isn’t exactly surprising), there will be optional microtransactions for cosmetics, and there will be no lootboxes.

What is the release date for Wolfenstein: Youngblood?

Wolfenstein: Youngblood will come out on July 26, 2019.

What is the price of Wolfenstein: Youngblood?

The Wolfenstein: Youngblood Standard Edition is $29.99.

The Wolfenstein: Youngblood Deluxe Edition, including The Buddy Pass and the Cyborg Skin Pack is $39.99.
*Note, the Standard Edition is only available as a digital download across Europe, Australia & New Zealand

What is the Buddy Pass system?

The Deluxe Edition of the game grants you the Buddy Pass. The Buddy Pass allows you to invite a friend who hasn’t purchased Wolfenstein: Youngblood to play through the entire game with you – for free!

How many friends can I invite with the Buddy Pass?

You can only play with one friend at a time, but you can use the Buddy Pass to invite as many friends as you want.

Are there restrictions for Buddy Pass players?

Buddy Pass players will progress normally and can experience the entire game while they are playing co-op alongside you. Buddy Pass players can upgrade at any time to play the game solo, or join co-op games with other players.
Buddy Pass players will not receive achievements or trophies on console.

Is there an AI partner for players who want to experience the story solo?

If you prefer to play solo, you can play Wolfenstein: Youngblood partnered with an AI companion.

What is the difference between the Standard and Deluxe editions of the game?

The Standard Edition, priced at $29.99, is the game.
The Deluxe Edition, priced at $39.99, includes the game, a Buddy Pass, and the Cyborg Skin Pack.

What is the pre-order incentive?

Wolfenstein: Youngblood’s pre-order incentive is The Legacy Pack, a set of outfits and weapons used by BJ Blazkowicz in previous games. The pack includes:
– New Colossus Jacket power suit skin
– BJ’s U.S. Army power suit skin
– Old Blood Pipe
– Old Blood Knife
– WW2 Weapon Skin Set, for all ranged weapons

What is the Cyborg Skin Pack?

The Cyborg Skin Pack, which comes with Wolfenstein: Youngblood Deluxe Edition, is a set of custom content including:

Will there be microtransactions?

Will the German version be sanitized?
