The Legend of Zelda live-action movie to be streamed on Netflix worldwide after theatrical run
Netflix and Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) announced a new Pay-1 licensing deal this week, and as part of that, we have some news about the upcoming live-action movie for The Legend of Zelda.
As part of the partnership, SPE’s feature films will stream on Netflix worldwide after their full theatrical and home entertainment windows. The initiative will roll out gradually starting later this year with full global availability on Netflix in early 2029.
The Legend of Zelda was specifically cited as of the first SPE feature film titles that will stream on Netflix. For those curious, The Nightingale, Buds, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, and Sam Mendes’ quartet of Beatles films were named as well.
The Legend of Zelda live-action movie will initially come to theaters on May 7, 2027. It was originally planned for March 26, 2027.
Will you be seeing the film when it first comes to theaters or will you wait until it’s streaming on Netflix? Let us know in the comments.
