  • surprised it’s not just a big nipple

    • Please don’t give them ideas.

      • Velen (Not WoW)

They have enough of them already obviously.

        • Well, they have some, certainly.

    • Zeebor

      That’s Marvelous’ shtick.

    • RoadyMike

If it makes you feel any better, they chose quite the spot to put the power symbol

      • Fore

Dammit, unseeing that will be impossible now!

        • RoadyMike

          I leave you with this

          “Turn on”

  • Odali

Since it’s Nicalis I’m sure the boxart won’t be the only cool thing about the physical edition.

My profit for last month was $11k… All I was doing was some simple online work from my home for 3-4 hr/day that i got from agency I discovered online and they paid me 95 dollars/every hour… And if i can do it so can you,try it out here

  • Jonathan Cromwell

Sweet I’m actually surprised this is getting a physical edition. That makes five physical releases this year. I wonder if they are trying to position themselves as a third party publisher as opposed to and indie.

    • Zeebor

I’ve been debating putting them and Natsume on my Third-Party Spreadsheet:

But I have a rule of 20 (ignore Focus, their have been talks of them merging with Maximum, so I’m getting ahead), and even then it’s not known how much say Nicalis has over these IPs themselves. Reminds me of the birth of Image and Dark Horse actually. Under DC and Marvel, they of course owned everything, while Image, DH, and all the weird indie publishers that came after, it was the writer who had complete ownership of the characters, in exchange for half the sale going to said publisher for printing costs and the like. Cross-overs only started happening because all those writers got drunk at the same bars.

Rule 2 of Franchise cross-overs: much like the South, conception is only possible with alcohol.

So we got three (or four?) characters from Code Princess, forgot their names, the Umihara Kawase girl, also forgot name, Curly Brace from Cave story, don’t know the three at the bottom right, and the girl at the center looks familiar to me.

    • Loyb

The girl on the center right looks like one of the other chracters in Yumi’s Odd Odyssey/Sayonara Umihara Kawase

  • NintendoPSXTheSecond

Easily one of my most anticipated Switch games. I wish I knew who the cat girl and blue haired girl is. The middle one looks like a game original however.

    • Xavier

Pretty sure loli and blue hair are also Yumi’s Odd Odyssey Characters

      • DeltaPeng

Oh really? Curious that they added multiple characters from that game

        • Princess_Eevee9

Well apparently that series and Code of Princess are owned by Studio Saizensen so I’m not surprised.

          • DeltaPeng

Oh really? That makes more sense. The games are quite different so I wasn’t sure what the connection was. Thought it was like the Smash roster (crossovers), but from an indie standpoint (which I guess it still is with the inclusion of Curly, but to a lesser degree)

      • RoadyMike

As a recovering Yumi’s Odd Odyssey addict, I recognized the other 2 girls right away and will now have to buy the game no questions asked. I wonder how differently they’ll play from Kawase

    • I thought that was Emiko, but that’s apparently Noko from Umihara Kawase. (I get the two mxied up.

      • Xavier

        They’re both in regardless

        • Oh, I didn’t know they were both in. That’s cool. I hope the nun from Code of Princess made it in, including her badass theme song.

    • Princess_Eevee9

I think she’s from Yumi’s Odd Odyssey, oh the visual down there helps too.

Nicalis is killing it with physical releases on Switch. Keep it going.

    • Zeebor

Well, it’s not like any of the Big 10 are gonna have any physical releases anytime soon (the French, non-withstanding). Same reasons indies exploded on the Wii U: lack of competition.

  • I like the box art, but I’m not really sold on the game.

    • NeptuniasBeard

      Heh, same.

      Looks cute though…

      • It does. I gotta say. . . and this may be a nitpick because I’m so used to how well Smash scales characters, I wish they better kept the respective look and styles of the characters.

  • menschmaschine

Man I just want more gameplay footage.

  • Exy

I hope this actually comes out. I need more fighting games for Switch now that my arcade stick works for it.

  • Princess_Eevee9

They had me at that amazing Code of Princess announcement! Please please add Lady Zozo!

  • Melatelo

Nicalis are totally killing it with the box art. Beautiful.

  • DeltaPeng

    2017 release window eh? Interesting

  • Justmadeanaccount2

The font on the logo is bothering me cause its so meh.

    • TDude73

You hate Japanese video games much?

  • RoadyMike

Have you not heard? Not liking every single aspect of something means you absolutely hate it
It’s 2017, get with the times dude

    • Justmadeanaccount2

      lol Sad.

  • ««H3©TöR»»

Looking forward to this. (No, not just because Curly’s in in). Plus, if their recent track record is anything to go by, the physical will come with a lot of cool stuff.

  • SpaceShipTrains

I’ll admit, while I am looking forward to this game, the new design for Curly kiiinda rubs me the wrong way. I dunno. Maybe it’s the fact that they made her ears into headphones? Or the new weird jackety thingy she’s wearing. I dunno. Maybe I’m just a sucker for the original designs.
