from gameplay, to art direction, graphics, animations, effects, everything looks really like amateur work.

-even as the game is being made by an industry veteran.

That’s pretty standard for these “We couldn’t get the rights to that game you liked years ago so here it is with different characters and half the effort” Kickstarter projects.

Reminds me of Dawn of Sorrow.

  • Vigilante_blade

I donated for this, and it looks very slow and clunky. I’m worried.

Looking forward to this game. Similar to Castlevania SOTN which is one of the best side scrolling games (and it’s developed by the same person I believe).

It’s just the same producer (produced =/= developed). I’m not sure if Igarashi was able to pirate SotN’s actual developers, though I doubt it. The game designer is credited for two Castlevanias, both decent, but none of which were SotN.

I’ve taken to re-playing SotN a couple days ago (never get tired of that game, to be honest), and this looks closer to those ‘Vanias on portables than SotN, in my opinion. That doesn’t mean it’ll be bad, only not as much of a spiritual successor that the Kickstarter claims Bloodstained would be.

Ah ok makes sense now. I hope it turns out good.

  • Bruno_Ostara

It looks interesting but not very well made. The art style don’t really fit, those 3d model characters are a bit weird in that scenary. And it looks easy, the enemies shown are all too slow. But it does look like something that could be good

if only Igarashi teamed with Valhallaware games..

  • AquaBat

Still not regretting that refund. Sixty dollarydoos given back that I can now spend on a better game.

  • Bart

Not sure what people are on about, looks good to me.

that bell crushing to the ground looks pretty ugly

…Yeah, this is gonna suck, just like Mighty No. 9. We like Castlevania Symphony of the Night better!
