Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has sold 500,000 copies on Switch, Bandai Namco announced today. That number accounts for all copies moved worldwide.

As was the case a few months ago, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has become scarce once again in Japan. Bandai Namco hopes to have more shipments ready for early February.

Please tell me Fighter Z has Super Saiyan 3 Goku?!!!

    • Felipe M.

Google isn’t that hard to use.

      • Roto Prime

I hate google, can you post a picture please <3

    • MusubiKazesaru

He has the ability to shift into it as SSJ Goku for at least one attack. I’m not sure about anything else offhand.

      • Roto Prime

Nooooooo, its Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butōden all over again ;____; why does Ark hate him so much?!

  • MasterPice

    They better port FighterZ now

  • theFooFighter

After this I get the feeling that tekken, fighter Z and soul caliber are looking pretty likely for switch ports

    • Aline Piroutek

Year late Switch ports(like Dragon Quest XI) ? Better than nothing I guess.

      • TDude73

So freaking what if it’s late?

        • Felipe M.

Less demand as people have already played it.

Here’s an example: Old Man’s Journey is going to be released on the Switch but already bought on Android (less than a dollar) so won’t bother on the Switch.

I got Riptide GP Renegade free on Android via the Amazon app so another game to skip on the Switch.

Honestly, at this point the Switch is only for Nintendo games cause the rest can be bought cheaper elsewhere or even free.

          • Ektoras Kalderis

I don’t buy or play games on my phone so that doesn’t affect me

      • theFooFighter

The way I see it, the exact same thing happens to PC gamers so whatever. People are willing to wait if the platform has an incentive to wait. People will wait for portability on the switch just like people are willing to wait for higher frame rates and resolutions on PC

      • Stuart

I don’t care if they come late,I just want to play them on Switch.

  • TDude73

Do you know what this means, Bandai Namco? You know what time it is…

    • Felipe M.

Time to join the train of releasing a game half on game cartridge and the rest digitally. : D

      • Force

Just one of the compromises of having a handheld that pretends it’s something else /shrug

        • KnickKnackMyWack

          It’s a handheld but it’s also a hybrid.

          • Force

And the other side is nothing worth mentioning. Might as well remove it and give those handheld people their better functions.

          • KnickKnackMyWack

Why? It’s selling great as it is.

          • Force

Because that could help enhance the experience that does matter to the convenience-hungry masses.

          • KnickKnackMyWack

I’m sure the masses will be fine.

  • Stuart

Holy sh!t,it already outsold the Xbone version by a lot. Not porting Fighters Z and Tekken to Switch was a real smart idea Bandai, real smart.

    • theFooFighter

They started development back during the nx days and more importantly before Nintendo had proven they had gotten their $hit together. Either way I can almost guarantee we’ll end up with both and more importantly Tekken 8 and the next dbz game will probably have switch versions from day 1

      • Felipe M.

The Switch is comparable to 360/PS3/WiiU graphically at best so if BANDAI releases Tekken 7/8 it’ll be downgraded.

I’m okay with it as long as it’s fun to play. Enjoyed DOOM though it had some flaws.

        • theFooFighter

The switch is basically in the middle but either way it has a modern tool set and architecture so that instantly put it way ahead of last gen and the Wii u.

    • Felipe M.

Tekken 7 is a hungry-power game so it’d probably need to be downgraded to run on the Switch.

      Don’t be too bitter.

  • Felipe M.

First and last Xenoverse I’ve bought. Now, port FighterZ to the Switch.

  • WTFISTHISSHIT?

So, Xenoverse 2 SOLD better on the Switch than it did on the Xbox One, yet
they questioned if Dragonball games sell on Nintendo systems? Lmfao!

Namco Bandai true audience is on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch, watch
Dragonball FighterZ outsell Xbox One ver when its ported later down the
    line.

    • theFooFighter

Xbox is just a cheap port to be honest. Like if the platform required as much extra effort as a PC or switch port there’s no way it would get stuff like monster hunter or fighter Z

  • Force

So that’s how much portability matters to people eh? So long as the Switch does not drive the other experiences into the ground, with how people worship it these days.

    • KnickKnackMyWack

Man, you rag on that more than other folks around here rag on motion controls.

      • Force

It’s so easily solvable. Just advertise Pokemon Switch especially at how awesome is as home-console, make that computing device a reality, and it’s all solved.

Everything points in the direction that handheld matters far more to them than home-console. Might as well be a handheld then.

  • Reggie

I still think Xenoverse is more enjoyable, but yes, bring on FighterZ.

  • awng782

The Switch version has now outsold the Steam version.
