3) Link 8.7%
4) Pikachu 7.1%
5) Captain Falcon 5.5%

3) Link 9.3%
4) Captain Falcon 7.2%
5) Samus 6.2%

Female:

2) Mario 16.7%
3) Pikachu and Koopa tied for 13.3%
5) Link and Ike tied for 6.7%

And her are some comments from the participants…

“It’s like I’m still allowed to have this private place where I can be a kid (with Mario) and just have fun.” – 40 year-old man

“Kirby is so cute! And his attacks just blow away foes.” – 20 year-old woman

“Yeah, more than Doraemon, Detective Conan and others, Mario is the country’s national character. After all, it’s the Age of Mustache!” – another male

Perhaps best of all, one man chose Captain Falcon because he’s “hot”.

With one participating saying Mario is a “National character”, GameKun ultimately concluded, “Yeah, more than Doraemon, Detective Conan and others, Mario is the country’s national character. After all, it’s the Age of Mustache!”
