    O.O wtf 145K!?

  • Just wow… *Claps

  • the grouch

this is getting a good way

  • Ryosuke Yamada

Wow did they solve the supply issue? This is an amazing number of Switch sold.

    • KnightWonder

That or they were reserving many of them for this occasion.

    • ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Nope. A japanese friend told me that switch still sold out in most shops there in japan that week. So sales can be much higher than 145k on the week if they can truly meet the demand.

    • ben

The console sold out at 145K. Next week it will be even bigger number.

Wow…! Didn’t expect the Switch to BLOW everything out of the water that BADLY!

Big week for Microsoft in Japan.

    • Aline Piroutek

      That won’t happen again

  • awng782

Amazing Switch sales. Same for Animal Crossing.

  • Ser2k2

WOW….those Nintendo Switch Sales. Great boost for ZELDA BOW.

  • MoYeung

People still buy PS3 amd Wii U

    • Aline Piroutek

      I would buy a PS3 for Ridger Racer 7.

    • Aline Piroutek

*PS4 and Switch don’t have backwards compatibility. That’s why DS and Wii stopped selling.

  • Wanderlei

Damn, I thought 70-80k was new baseline but big boost with no new software to drive it.

  • TimG57867

Look at those Animal Crossing sales, all because the new mobile app. I swear if we get a legit Animal Crossing on Switch in 2018:

    • Jimmy Boy

assuming the same people who only pad $20 for New Leaf turn around and pay $60, not to mention $300 for Switch. Hopefully everyone’s rich now that Trump is in office so they can afford to pay triple what they just paid just for the game!

Japanese hardware sales as of 11/26/2017 according to Media Create:

    PS4 (released 02.22.2014): 5,492,700*

    SWITCH (released 03.03.2017): 2,374,004

    *includes Pro sales

    • lpfm

      week 39, roughly:

      Switch: 145,200
      3DS: 96,219
      Wii U: 6,741

      • Eagle367

Love your comments and wow the wii u really had pathetic sales huh

        • lpfm

          =) Thks!
And remember, week 39 means really close to holiday season for both swich and 3ds and July/August for Wii U. But yes, pathetic still. X)

          • Eagle367

That’s still less than what the vita I selling now so yeah. Can’t believe Wii u sold worse than the vita worldwide

          • Jimmy Boy

sold better than Master System, Dreamcast, Saturn, TurboGrafx-16, all those commercial failures…

          • Eagle367

It wasn’t a commercial failure since it made Ninty some profit but it was a sales disaster for Ninty as a company. Bar the virtual boy this was the worst ever for them

      • Gregory Weagle

Launch aligned: Switch made it to 2.4 million in almost nine months; while PS4 did it in almost two years. And Xenoblade 2 hasn’t been released yet, that’s next week.

    • Gregory Weagle

I think Switch’s numbers were closer to 2.397 million according to Media-Create. I know Famitsu’s numbers were around 2.41 million.

  • Tga215

It’s not even a fair fight anymore the switch is in a league of its own

  • TDude73

NintenDOMINATION!!!!! The Nintendo Switch is an unstoppable force this Holiday season!

  • Aline Piroutek

Oh god. The monster is breaking out the cage! O monstro tá saindo da jaula!

    • Game_God

O monstro já saiu há bué, só quem não quer ver é que contempla o mundo dos jogos que nem um cego (EA, Capcom, Activision…)

      • Aline Piroutek

Konami is already losing a lot of money by not doing a exclusive Castlevania game.
And Capcom for not bringing Megaman.

  • Aline Piroutek

Imagine if the Hatsune Miku game was on Switch.

    • Pepperkeet

      My heart….

  • Mr Objection

Wow, that is a huge number. It is hard to imagine the amount of units it will sell once Pokemon for the switch is out….

    • Eagle367

It still sells out every week which means the switch isn’t even at peak performance yet. So when Pokémon comes out the switch just might sell out in the same day stocks are filled every time so six days a week the switch wouldn’t be available at all

    • Jimmy Boy

assuming people like shelling out $120 for games, on top of the $300 for the system! Parents in 2018 are going to be broke, paying nearly $500 just for Pokemon and Switch!!

      • Mr Objection

$500? Pokémon is going to be 60 dollars + 300 o less from switch

  • gurbeergill

My jaw dislocated. Need to go to a doctor – luckily we have free healthcare up here.

  • The Switch is just killing it in Japan…….it’s not even close….wow

  • Jacob Groves

  • GoldenTriforce

This is actually better than the 3DS’s first black friday week in 2011

    • Jimmy Boy

The 3DS was considered a failure in 2011, it’s why Iwata had them do a massive price drop, not to mention it was also the cause for their first ever financial loss (yeah, their fist loss ever was because of the weak 3DS sales, Wii U hadn’t even debuted yet- look at it yourself, Wii U launched in November, 2012, and this article is from April, 2012: )

  • Don Zaloog

This was just a slaughter. It’s even more surprising because there was no new software released this week.

  • Stuart O’Quin

    Total domination.

  • Stuart

Hey guys, remember that time when we all get excited when Wii U sold more than 10k on Media Create?

Man,those days really are over aren’t they? :3

  • Tlink7

At this point anyone not trying to port games to the Switch is just saying ”I don’t want money”

  • Radish

Whoa, Xbox One and Xbox One X are gaining momentum! Must be cause of all that POWER!

  • Pepperkeet

Amazing Sales, Switch DOOMination is upon us

  • Game_God

Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo – 10,806 1

Star Wars Battlefront II – 10,734
Animal Crossing spanking Battlefront *ss made me laugh real hard!!!

    • Jimmy Boy

Only because of the mobile app drumming up business. Before the app came out it was 3,444 for the week.

  • Nintendo is gonna have a great holiday season, that’s for sure. ^_^

  • ben

Capcom thought they were king makers. They thought that where Monhun goes the Japanese gamers go. PS4 sales are actually worse than last year and Monhun world is not far away. Capcom is about to learn that the hardcore monhun fans were only a fraction of the people who bought the game casually on the 3ds.

    • Gregory Weagle

Last year: 1.325 million units for the year.
This year: 1.492 million units for the year.

Switch is still destroying it though.

      • ben

Yes, but they will end up down year on year.

  • Justin McQuillen

Woooooooow. PS4 still having a hard time keeping up with 3DS.

    • Jimmy Boy

look at year-over-year totals, the PS4 not only outsold the 3DS, unlike the 3DS, it’s up year-over-year.

      • Justin McQuillen

        Still losing now.

      • Nhat Anh Hoang

Ps4 in Japan since 2015, 3ds is 2011. Sometimes still lost to 3ds is pathetic at this point
