The Wii U’s Virtual Console is just a few months away. Nintendo will launch the service this spring with a new Wii U system update.

NES and SNES titles will be available at the start. There will be special prices available to those who have purchased a Wii Virtual Console game and have transferred to Wii U:

New prices

$4.99 – $5.99
$7.99 – $8.99

Reduced prices (if previously bought)

NES – $1.00
SNES – $1.50

Other notes about the Wii U VC:

– save a back-up of your game progress
– play off-TV on the GamePad
– Access a Miiverse community
– GBA support coming

A VC trial campaign begins today and will run up until July. Games will be available for 30 cents for these titles and will remain that way for 30 days. Balloon Fight is coming this month, followed by F-Zero in March.
