Xenoblade Chronicles X quests will be “much more user-friendly”

Posted on August 28, 2014 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U

Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii featured a quest log that could quickly become very long and intimidating for some players. For the game’s successor, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Monolith Soft is looking to make “a much more user-friendly experience”.

Executive producer Tetsuya Takahashi told EDGE this month that in the Wii U game, “objectives and relevant people will be displayed on the map.” Monolith Soft is also implementing “a number of other features to help with quests”.

Out of all things from xenoblade I thought the quest system was the one most in need of an upgrade/change, so this is great news.

  • Thanks so much to the people who made the Xenoblade Wiki. Somehow those folks were able to remember which squat, fat orange blob was Tiki and which one was Suki and remind me which hours of the day they showed up in which part of town. As much as I loved every minute of that game, like 10 or 12 quests positively stumped me.

Ahh man I loved Xenoblade so so much. The music, the gameplay, the characters, everything was pretty much perfect…but yeah, making the sequel more user-friendly is win win for everyone.

This game is going to be so great 🙂 im just all hyped for this game i loved the first one and now X this is more then enough. 201t will deliver really great games with X being one of my day 1 purchase

The quest system was already pretty good. Still, it was a pain to know where and when to meet NPCs. So I see it like improving an already great thing.

    + 50 copies bought… by me

I have a sensation this game will be the top for WiiU, sitting somewhere along side the new Zelda, and maybe a Metroid if they make one.
And cause this game will get a proper push, unlike Xenoblade., this could dominate sales and push WiiU world wide

  • I actually thought the quest system was pretty good. I adored not having to run around and turn in completed quests. It kept everything really streamlined.

Now, what I did have an issue with was the NPCs. They were almost impossible to find most of the time.

      Plus building their Affinity!

So in light of this news, is it still worth it for me to go get Xenoblade Chronicles?

    • TJB3NC .

You know, don’t know if you can find it any more. I’ve heard yes and no to this. I was one of the lucky ones to have pre-ordered all three of the Operation Rain games when they were first announced. I’ve been offer quite a bit for my copy of XC but have never let go of it to this day. Never quite finished it either….LOL

Yeah I know copies are very rare especially at Gamestop. Well if I come across it I will consider. And I never got to play The Last Story or Pandora’s Tower.

definitely worth it if you can find a copy. the side quests aren’t mandatory after all. i didn’t mind most of them, but the item collection quest were borderlining on tedeum, if only becuz of the random nature of the item orbs. once spent 3 hours looking for a certain # of an item… i eventually gave up.

Will do. I’ll see if I spot it.

FINALLY! This is why I have over 200 hours in this game and am only at the beginning of the factory chapter.

    • Kenshin0011

whaaaaat!? What level are you? lol. How could you do that so early, you’d run out of early quests to do

      • Xeld

I think he means Central Factory inside the Mechonis.

Oh, yes. The main complaints I’d have about Xenoblade Chronicles are how repetitive, monotonous, and downright obscure some of the quests were – alongside the lack of difficulty selection for the game, the erratic EXP curve relative to the enemies, and the fact that fall and hazard damage ignored your stats and scaled relative to your maximum HP… heh, I think I listed every problem I had with the game.
