Lots of new Persona 5 Scramble info – new characters, gameplay systems, Sendai location and more
Earlier today, Atlus held a live stream for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. Titled “Mona’s Travelling Report #2”, the stream revealed a ton of new info about the game, including the Sendai location, new characters, character progression and more (credit for the translation goes to Persona Central).
Atlus has broken up the live stream into two smaller videos – here’s the one covering Sendai:
And here’s the video showing off the various character progression elements:
Head past the break for all the new info revealed today.
Sendai
In Persona 5 Scramble, the parallel worlds where the combat takes place aren’t called Palaces, but “Jails”. During their investigation of the Jail in Shibuya at the start of the game, the Phantom Thieves attract the attention of the public security police officer Zenkichi Hasegawa, who suspects they are the culprits in the game. To clear their name, the Phantom Thieves decide to infiltrate the Jail and solve the case. However, they soon learn that these Jail incidents are popping up all over Japan, and they decide to head to Sendai.
There, they encounter two new characters: the popular author Ango Natsume (voiced by Daisuke Kishio) and the mysterious, beef tongue-loving woman Kuon Ichinose (voiced by Yōko Hikasa).
The Sendai Jail takes on the form of a huge, medieval castle, populated by strong Shadows.
BAND
The character progression system in this game is called “BAND”. You can strengthen the attack power, defense, HP and other parameters of the Phantom Thieves using this system, with various additional options becoming available as the story progresses. You can get BAND points by defeating enemies.
Master Arts
Master Arts are powerful combat abilities unique to each character. Keep using a character in battle, and they’ll eventually learn these Master Arts, enhancing their repertoire during combat.
Shop
You’ll be able to purchase new items and equipment at various shops. You can buy them directly from new character Sophia, and there are also shops in each locale that might offer special bargains.
