Stardew Valley getting version 1.6 update with new content
Original (7/17): It turns out that ConcernedApe isn’t done with Stardew Valley, and the game is going to be receiving another round of new content as part of version 1.6.
Technically this isn’t the first time that we’re hearing about this. ConcernedApe did confirm plans for version 1.6 in April, but mainly said it’s “changes for modders” and that there would be “much less” content than version 1.5.
Now via a new message on social media, we have a better idea as to what’s in store. ConcernedApe has thus far confirmed a new festival, new items, more dialogue, secrets, and more which has yet to be revealed. Beyond that we’re waiting to hear about more of the specifics.
Of course, the developer is working on more than just the latest Stardew Valley update. In October 2021, ConcernedApe announced Haunted Chocolatier, which you can read about here. Development on it has been paused as Stardew Valley version 1.6 gets the focus. However, once that’s done, Haunted Chocolatier will continue to progress.

Stardew Valley is currently available on Switch as both a physical and digital release.
Update (9/27): More details about the update have been revealed about the Stardew Valley version 1.6 update. A couple of these things were known, but players can expect a new major festival, two new mini festivals, new late-game content that expands on each of the skill areas, new items and crafting recipes, Joja alternatives to some end-game quests, over 100 new lines of dialogue, winter outfits for the villagers, new type of reward for completing billboard requests, additions and adjustments, new farm type, new secrets, and more. Still no word on launch timing.
