Stardew Valley free updates DLC

Over on social media, Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe pledged that the studio will never charge fans for DLC or updates.

While some updates are free, many other games these days often charge extra for DLC that introduces new content. Stardew Valley, meanwhile, doesn’t followed that model. ConcernedApe brought out significant updates for its game over the years which have always been free.

ConcernedApe had the following exchange with a fan on Twitter which prompted the promise that its DLC and updates will be free:

Stardew Valley previously received a version 1.6 update on PC earlier in the year that fans are currently waiting for on Switch. The patch brought along a bunch of additions including new festivals and events, a “mastery” system, Meadowlands Farm type, and more. We’ll let you know when the update hits Switch, but there’s no estimate currently on when that will happen.

Outside of Stardew Valley, ConcernedApe is also cooking up Haunted Chocolatier as its next game. The developer is working hard on the title but has yet to share any sort of release window.
