[Let’s Talk] What do you want to see next out of Monolith Soft?

Posted on August 10, 2024 by (@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Let's Talk

Monolith Soft has become one of Nintendo’s most important subsidiaries over the years. For one thing, the company has developed a very consistent RPG in Xenoblade Chronicles going back to the Wii era. Monolith Soft continued to expand and now has extra teams working on other first-party games, ranging from Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild to the Splatoon titles.

This week, we heard that Monolith Soft is hiring for a “new RPG” with Tetsuya Takahashi at the helm. It’s certainly possible that this could be for a new Xenoblade game. On the other hand, we can’t help but be intrigued by the company working on something entirely new.

We want to ask you though: what would you like to see out of Monolith Soft? Let us know in the comments below.

Highlights from last week’s topic: What are you playing? – August 2024

Jester Slime

Been playing Metal Slug Attack Reloaded since it released. It is awesome. Added a whole slew of new characters that I really like. It’s winding down now, as I just grind out Medals to finish the unit collection. It’s a really solid game, though it has that notorious SNK Difficulty level in some places. I don’t care for that, and won’t worry about clearing any of the actual hard stuff.

Also been playing Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. My only prior experience with the Dragon Quest series is Dragon Warrior ALLLL the way back on the NES, and Dragon Warrior 3 on the GBC (where I tried, but never finished, collecting all the Monster Medals). I see now that they’ve come up with some incredibly kooky creature designs as the series has progressed. This one’s still got some time to go, since filling out the Monsterpedia is quite the tedious and RNG-affected undertaking.

ThePerfectButt

An unhealthy amount of Smash Bros

theFooFighter

I’m kinda all over the place right now. Life is strange on Xbox, paper Mario on 64, sonic superstars on PS5 and brothers in arms hells highway on ps3

Addy

I finally got around buying and played through Sonic Superstars, and… it’s alright. Also going to get the 2nd and 3rd Valis collections before their sales end.

Vinicius

Started Tokyo Xanadu EX+ on friday. Really enjoying it, just wish there were more sidequests avaliable early game.

Got Sega Genesis Collection since it was on sale this week. I remembered why I hate Altered Beast, and why I like COllums 3 so much.

Mark of the Ninja.

César Tribst

The C-Stick of my New 3DS wore out so I repaired with an PSP analog and it made so much better to use that I’m enjoying more playing Zelda Majora’s Mask, Resident Evil Revelations and others 3DS games that support it.
