[Let’s Talk] How are you feeling about Metroid Prime 4?
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is in a somewhat strange position. After the game was announced years ago, the hype has been building over time. Depending on who you talk to though, that hype has been deflating since the proper reveal in June 2024. A couple of other trailers have been released since then, but the game hasn’t seen its true standout moment so far.
The latest Metroid Prime 4 trailer debuted during a Nintendo Direct last week. That revealed the existence of motorcycle gameplay and some sort of open area in a desert. We’ve seen the game a few times now, but there’s still time to showcase it further before the December launch.
Based on what we’ve seen from Metroid Prime 4, how are you feeling about it so far? Do you plan on picking it up at the end of the year? Let us know in the comments.
Highlights from last week’s topic: September 2025 Nintendo Direct reactions

I expected a little bit more, especially with some bigger 3rd party ports, but not a bad direct. RE9 was a welcome surprise.
So happy with MP4 release date and 3 new amiibo, already preordered. But no Metroid Prime 4 direct? But Kirby Riders is getting a 2nd direct?
Was hoping to see more on Splatoon Raiders and The Duskbloods. And wanted to see MKW dlc and like a ton more NS2 editions, especially with 1st party games.
Glad there weren’t any EA sports games or Just Dance segments, the only thing that was annoying was the time talking about the game we literally just watched the trailer for.
And the Virtual Boy announcement was simply wild.

Dragon quest 7 is an interesting one. Honestly I would have expected 4, 5, 8 or 9 to come back before 7. Also it looks like it’s based on the ps1 version. The 3ds went for a more 3d approach, not on the same level as 8 or 11 but still pretty expansive. Little disappointing they chose the top down version but I’ll get over it, day 1 purchase

That Direct was honestly fantastic. FF7 Remake, release dates for AGE OF IMPRISONMENT, METROID PRIME 4, RESIDENT EVIL confirmed, and surprise announcements for DQ7 and FATAL FRAME II pushed it over the edge for me. I did think the MARIO segment was a bit too long, but the rest made up for that.
