Rumor: Resident Evil: Archives dated for North America

The Resident Evil Classics line was announced alongside the revelation of Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles for Wii. There is now some rumored information pertaining to the RE Wiimakes including details on the product’s scheduled month for release. Archives will become available this June in North America for $29.99. That price fits in exactly with what Capcom shared a few weeks back. Apparently the package will include the remakes of Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Zero, both of which were also confirmed by Capcom in the same press release when Darkside Chronicles was first unveiled. Though this information seems plausible, consider this a rumor until there is an official confirmation from Capcom.

Tekken 6, Tekken 5 could end up on Wii
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 8 Comments
Tekken 6 director Katsuhiro Harada was recently asked if Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection or Tekken 6 could be ported to Wii. Harada said that if there is enough demand from fans, the series could see action on Nintendo’s system.
“That would be very interesting [Tekken 5/6 on Wii]. Like the Xbox 360 owners, if Wii owners are passionate and make it known they really want the series on their system, we would love to be able to answer that request. Hearing about the huge number of Xbox 360 owners who are Tekken fans, especially in North America, definitely played a huge part in influencing us to bring the game to that system. As for the Wii, the standard controller lacks the right number of buttons and the placement is awkward, so… I suppose the classic controller could handle it!”
Independent Wii development “not really justified yet” says id CEO

id Software has been involved with games such as Doom and Quake. But what does the company think of the Wii? According to Todd Hollenshead, id’s CEO, independent development in the Wii “is not really justified yet.”
“…So the game-centric game-based properties are successful on 360 and PS3, and PC, especially if you have a combined launch. They’re not as successful on the Wii. In fact, if you’re already doing those others, then maybe you add the Wii as your fourth platform. But if you look at the numbers, independent Wii-centric development is not really justified yet. Now, maybe it’s just that we don’t know how to exploit it, and Nintendo does because they made the Wii, and they’re really that good. And I’m not trying to take away from those guys at Nintendo. Their games are awesome–I’m a fan, too. But as a company that doesn’t make Nintendo-type games, the Wii is less of a compelling platform for us to really sink a lot of resources into.” – Todd Hollenshead, id’s CEO
