The launches of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and New 3DS make for a pretty powerful combo. Photos from Japan have appeared showing long lines for both products at different locations, including Tsutaya in Shibuya and Bic Camera in Ikebukuro. Most shots were snapped between 6 AM and 7 AM, so the demand was certainly there!

Yet another 3DS firmware update is out now in Japan. Version 9.1.0-20 has specific uses for both the New 3DS and original 3DS models.

Once the update is installed, New 3DS owners will be able to purchase themes, visit the eShop, use the Internet browser, and move software between systems. Themes are also available for original 3DS owners. System stability has been improved as well.

This month’s issue of CoroCoro reveals that a new version of Youkai Watch 2 is in the works. Level-5 will release Youkai Watch 2: Star Performer in Japan on December 13. Pricing is set at 4,968 yen.

The new version of Youkai Watch 2 will new Youkai and quests as well as an anime episode that connects to the upcoming movie. Players will be able to transfer data from the original games (Ganso/Honke). Additionally, extras are planned like medals for the retail launch.

The 3DS has featured two notification icons on the Home Menu since launch. When receiving a StreetPass hit, a green circle appears. Meanwhile, the arrival of new SpotPass content is associated with a circle dot.

The recent introduction of themes brings a new color into the fray. It appears that Nintendo will be keeping users informed about new themes with the pink icon.

The 46th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine is announcing that Yu Sausuga and Kenichi Tachibana’s manga Terraformars manga has inspired a new 3DS game that will be releasing in Japan next spring.
FuRyu (Unchained Blades, Exstetra, Hamatora: Look at Smoking World, To Love-Ru Darkness: Battle Ecstasy, The Legend of Legacy) will be developing the tittle under the name Terraformars: Akaki Hoshi no Gekit? (Fierce Battle on the Crimson Planet).
In the game control Sh?kichi and the other humans as they fight the Terraformar swarms on Mars.
The game will cost 5,980 yen (approximately $55 USD).
