The latest videos from Etrian Odyssey IV show both 3DS screens in action at the same time. But rather than showing gameplay, the footage shows off the sequences leading to the opening menu.

Included in the gallery above are screenshot comparisons of the original Luigi’s Mansion and Dark Moon. How do you feel the new 3DS entry stacks up to the GameCube title?

Amazon Japan has posted up a new listing for a 3-disc Kid Icarus: Uprising soundtrack. The product will release on August 21 for 3,570 yen.

We know that an Uprising soundtrack has been available on the Japanese Club Nintendo site for quite some time. Currently, it’s unknown how the two items differ.

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy producer Tomoya Asano has been tweeting up a storm as of late. He’s been sharing new details about the game relating to the number of save data slots, a final male character, and character equipment graphics.

For a summary of Asano’s messages, check out the summary below.

– One save data slot
– Specific information isn’t available, but there’s only one slot because of some of Bravely Default’s wireless features
– Once again, there are random encounters in the game
– Official art shows a fourth male character
– Must wait for a followup report for info on this person
– One fan says that the Bravely Default name comes from the “Brave” and “Default” battle system parameters
– Asano said players will learn more about the name after beating it
– Character graphics are mostly based off the character’s jobs
– Some special accessories and equipment will be shown on the character
– Most of the events have voices
– Main characters have a massive amount of voice

Well, I think we can say for sure now that the European 3DS XL is in the hands of the press. Here’s another unboxing video for you:

Final Fantasy Versus XIII still hasn’t been released, yet one of the game’s songs managed to find its way into Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. In a new interview, producer Ichiro Hazama explained how the piece found ended up in the music title as downloadable content.

Head past the break for Hazama’s commentary on this topic as well as why some games in the Final Fantasy series weren’t represented in Theatrhythm, how the title’s concept evolved, and thoughts about other Square Enix IPs that could take the musical route in the future.

It’s possible that I’m oblivious and missed this in the past, but after making a purchase on the 3DS eShop yesterday, I noticed that the store offered other downloadable recommendations once the process was complete. Perhaps this was introduced with the latest system update?
