3DS

Today, Ubisoft announced a demo for Rayman Origins on Nintendo 3DS is now available to download in the Nintendo eShop. Play Rayman Origins and discover the magical universe and legendary gameplay that captured the hearts of millions of fans.

The newly released demo includes three unique fantasy levels including Swinging Caves, Playing in the Shade and Shooting Me Softly. Players can launch the demo with no time limits, challenging their previous score and time attack records by collecting more electoons and exploring new adventures each time around.

The eShop has once again revealed next week’s additions. Game & Watch Gallery II will be available as a Virtual Console title while Snakenoid Deluxe will launch as a DSiWare game.

More 3DS Augmented Reality games could be in the future, if a new patent is any indication.

The Nintendo-filed patent is a concept in which colors influence the game world.

It mentions a few examples as summarized by NintendoLife:

“For instance: your character stands on a red cube, with a huge gap before the next gap. Grab a red background — paper, clothing etc. — and line it up between the cube to create a bridge for the happy chap to wander over.

“Another example features a fiery pit. No problem — point your 3DS cameras over a blue surface and it’ll create rain to extinguish the flames.”

The question is, will we see this patent materialize into an actual product? Or is this just another protective filing?

As it turns out, this video is up on the European Nintendo Video service as well as the North American service. Viewing it in the application will allow you to see it in 3D.

Not a terrible week for North America. Kirby’s Block Ball and the Rayman Origins demo are both worth downloading from the eShop.

This week’s Nintendo Download includes the following featured content:

Nintendo eShop
Mario Kart™ 7 update now available – Visit the Nintendo eShop to download the update for Mario Kart 7. This update is required for online multiplayer mode. For more information, visit http://mariokart7.nintendo.com/announcement. (For Nintendo 3DS™)

Nintendo Video™
Men in Black™ 3 in 3D (available May 18 at 6 a.m. PT) – They’re back! Men in Black hit Nintendo Video this week with the trailer for the latest installment in this epic franchise. (For Nintendo 3DS)

As much as we’d like this to be real, it isn’t. Maybe we’ll see a real F-Zero trailer at E3 2012 if we’re lucky!
