Square Enix has released another batch of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy screenshots showing off the game’s gourgeous art style. Although there are a few old images mixed in, most of them are brand new.

Wondering how Bravely Default got its name? You can read about its meaning here.

You can watch The Shins “The Rifle’s Spiral” on Nintendo Video beginning next Friday.

On this week’s episode: Kid Icarus: Uprising, Xenoblade Chronicles and Crush3D.

We weren’t quite sure what to make of Bravely Default’s name when Square Enix revealed the project late last year. Believe it or not, there is a meaning to it!

According to scenario writer Naotaka Hayashi (Steins;Gate) and producer Tomoya Asano, “Bravely Default” means “Have courage and renounce the promises and responsibilities that are expected of you.” You can think of this phrase as acting on your own intuition rather than simply following other people’s requests and demands. As many of you know, Bravely Default has a “Flying Fairy” subtitle, but neither Hayashi nor Asano commented on the meaning behind it.

The name talk was one of many topics discussed in a Famitsu.com interview. Hayashi and Asano commented on a few other things such as the starting point for Bravely Default. A roundup of the discussion can be found below.

Nintendo has opened the North American website for Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir. You can find a bunch of English clips there, including the intro for the game. If you’d like to avoid scrolling through the different pages but still have interest in the title, be sure to take a look at all of the site’s footage in the video above.
