Shigeru Miyamoto has answered a bunch of questions in a new interview with Wired. One of the more interesting points from the discussion is that he expressed willingness to let Retro Studios collaborate with Nintendo on Zelda. He talks about Mario 3D Land, Skyward Sword, a little bit about Wii U, and a bunch of other topics.

All of Miyamoto’s comments can be found after the break.

Nintendo of Europe has joined NoA in announcing release schedule for the Wii, 3DS, and DS. There’s nothing too specific here – Mario Party 9 and PokePark 2 are listed as general March games, for example – but there is some interesting information included.

The complete press release can be found below.

13th December 2011 – As the nights get longer and the year draws to a close, Nintendo looks ahead to what is shaping up to be a packed 2012 for all game lovers. Whether you own a Nintendo 3DS™ or Wii™, there will be an adventure to put a spring into your step in 2012.

Mario’s had a busy end to the year. Whether he’s been racing through the air, across the land or at the bottom of the sea in Mario Kart™ 7 which launched on 2nd December 2011 or donning his favourite Tanooki Suit to master a mixture of new and classic abilities on his quest through the Mushroom Kingdom in SUPER MARIO 3D LAND™ which launched on 18th November 2011. Mario isn’t finished there, however; he will be picking up a tennis racket in Mario Tennis™* and heading to the 2012 London Olympic games with Sonic in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games™ (SEGA), both launching in 2012 for Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo Unveils Deep and Diverse Software Lineup for Early 2012

New Kid Icarus, Pokémon, Rhythm Heaven and Mario Party Games Are on the Way

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– As some people hunker down for a long winter’s nap, Nintendo is getting things fired up. The first quarter of 2012 offers great new installments in popular franchises for both the Nintendo 3DS™ system and the Wii™ console. Nintendo has something for everyone, from family fun to three-dimensional adventure.

On the Nintendo 3DS system, Capcom’s Resident Evil® Revelations launches on Feb. 7. In a new chapter of the hit survival-horror franchise, players fight a new enemy and virus in 3D without the need for special glasses. METAL GEAR SOLID® 3D Snake Eater from Konami arrives in the first quarter of 2012. The game is a re-interpretation of METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater, and offers a rich jungle world with customizable stealth and camouflage options. On March 23, the epic odyssey Kid Icarus™: Uprising soars into stores and lets players help the winged warrior Pit fight Medusa and her Underworld Army.

Ni no Kuni hasn’t been Level-5’s most successful IP, but the studio has tentative plans to build it into a series. CEO Akihiro Hino said that they would consider including additional package game releases and will expand the current world rather than taking the IP in a completely different direction.

It could be awhile before we see anything new, however. Hino stated that there are many things that Level-5 must finalize before progress can be made.

Finally, Hino discussed why there were two different versions of Ni no Kuni. The “first” title, made for DS, was created so  as many people as possible could experience the Ni no Kuni universe. For the PlayStation 3 version, Level-5 hoped to bring movie-like quality to the game in terms of the animation and soundtrack.

Flipper 2 keeping DSiWare alive! Should be a pretty good addition to the DSiWare lineup, if the first game is anything to go by.
