GameStop no longer selling DS Lite systems

GameStop has confirmed that they willl no longer be selling the DS Lite. A spokesperson explained that the decision way necessary to boost 3DS sales and “take advantage of this unique product.” Consumers can still purchase the DSi and DSi XL, however.

You will still be able to find DS Lite inventory at most locations. Charlie Scibetta, senior director of corporate communications at Nintendo of America, said the following regarding stock at other retailers…

“Nintendo DS Lite is still available at most retail locations. Consumers will be able to find Nintendo DS Lite without much trouble.”

Nintendo release schedule for North America/Europe/Japan, overview of releases for last fiscal year

Nintendo’s release schedule is absolutely barren. Although, there really is no reason why it should be – in North America and Europe at least. We’re still waiting for a localization confirmation of Xenoblade Chronicles in the states, and The Last Story hasn’t been announced for any overseas territory.

Regarding the 3DS, fans know of only one game coming from Nintendo – The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. Unfortunately, that won’t be out until June, and Star Fox 64 3D has yet to be dated for North America or Europe.

Reggie Fils-Aime said that announcements about upcoming titles will be made before E3. I just hope Wii Play: Motion and Mystery Case Files: Dust to Dust aren’t the only new games that fans can look forward to on the Wii over the next few months. If nothing else, I expect that a number of dates will be shared at E3.
