Rumor: Link, Kid Icarus, and Ice Climbers to appear at GDC 2009
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 18 Comments
The latest buzz surrounding GDC 2009 is that three (four, technically) Nintendo characters will be at this year’s conference this year. The rumor specifically involves Link, Kid Icarus, and the Ice Climbers. Games wouldn’t necessarily be shown – hints to future projects, listing of the characters, or possibly more would be shared.
I do want to stress that this rumor should be taken with a huge grain of salt. In the past, some rumors have proved to be valid but in this case it’s really unclear. I would expect Nintendo to do something like this at E3, but not really GDC…Who knows. We’ll have to just wait and see. Just remember to have a bit of skepticism in mind and don’t set yourselves up for disappointment!
Thanks to Jake for the news tip.

Darkside Chronicles will be “very dark”
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 5 Comments
Masachika Kawata, producer of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, recently had a chance to speak about the game at the RE5 launch event. Kawata wanted to emphasize that The Darkside Chronicles is going to be “very dark” and that ‘dark’ is an important word for the title.
“What we’re looking to do is go back to a ‘very dark’ style of Resident Evil. ‘Dark’ is really a key word for this game. It will be shown in horror, in the storyline, in the emotions that the characters go through. [The development team at Cavia is] putting a lot of care, a lot of attention into [improving] how the camera system works in a rail-based shooter.”

Ronimo Games has another game in development, Swords & Soldiers sequel possible

“Although we have another cool project in the works at the moment and we need to see how good Swords & Soldiers is going to do, I am sure we will make a sequel of the game, we already have pages and pages filled with ideas for that game.” – Fabian Akker (Co-Founder) of Ronimo Games
I’ve been impressed with what I have seen from Swords & Soldiers thus far. If the game plays as good as it looks, I’d be more than happy to see a sequel on WiiWare.
Thanks to James for the news tip.
