Harry Potter – To delay, or not delay
Posted on 16 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News, Wii | 0 comments
The newest iteration in the Harry Potter series was set to debut on all major video game platforms this Fall, but Warner Bros. announced yesterday that the movie would be pushed back – all the way to next summer, in fact. Now EA is faced with a predicament: Should they delay the release of the games to coincide with the launch of the movie, or should the company stay on schedule and release it this November? EA is obviously struggling with the decision and can be seen through the words of one of the company’s representatives. “We are making a great game that Harry Potter fans will really enjoy — we are evaluating the impact of the movie date change.” Usually, video game movie titles are released before the movie counterparts, but never this far in advance. Eleven or so months might be pushing things!

Disaster: Day of Crisis not dead after all?

There was huge disappointment when readers found about about the indefinite delay of Disaster: Day of Crisis for Wii. Not only was it an original IP, but it was also very close to release in Japan. However, there is a good chance that Disaster might be releasing soon, or in the very least, simply gives encouragment that the project isn’t canned. Diaster: Cay of Crisis has been rated by the OFLC – with an M rating – along with Need for Speed Undercover and Space Invaders Get Even.

Suda 51, EA, Shinji Mikami working to make multiplatform title
Posted on 16 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
“We are very honored and think this is a great opportunity for us” – Suda51
“This game is dark, scary, and exciting. Stay tuned” – Shinji Mikami
Considering how unique No More Heroes for Wii was, if Suda 51 can replicate a similar experience – in the sense that it’s simply entertaining – they’ll have a hit on their hands. I have to admit though, it’ll be interesting to see Suda 51, Mikami, and EA all having a part in how the game turns out…Although, EA is mainly the publisher.
