Nyko has a new accessory in the works for the 3DS called the “Power Grip Pro”. The company describes it as a “an analog slider controller case with extended battery”.

An official blurb about the product can be found below. Images are attached above.

“The Power Grip Pro for the Nintendo 3DS is an analog slider controller case with extended battery. The hard protective case helps to prevent scratches and dings, and the ergonomic design provides optimal comfort and control. Gamers will enjoy the added control and functionality of the analog slider as well as triple the playtime. The Power Grip Pro for Nintendo 3DS will be available at select retail stores nationwide in October 2012.”

Nintendo’s simulator game for the 3DS, Tomodachi Collection, could be heading overseas.

A new rumor has popped up suggesting that the game’s localization will be announced. It will apparently sport a new name, “Communicator Gamers Collection”.

We’ll know if there’s any truth to this rumor by the end of the week, perhaps as soon as today.

If Australia’s Office of Film and Literature Classification is anything to go by, we’ll be seeing Nintendo’s classic puzzle game hitting the eShop shortly.

A good portion of Nintendo’s E3 2012 media briefing will focus on the Wii U. Yes, we know that. We also know that there is a software showcase event on Wednesday which will feature 3DS software.

However, although some folks were ruling out the 3DS completely for the conference, it does seem as though the handheld will be there, even if it’s just for a bit.

Nintendo has apparently hired a company to take b-roll footage of tomorrow’s games, including first and third-party titles for the Wii U and 3DS. It’d probably make sense to highlight New Super Mario Bros. 2, even if it is just for a minute.

In any case, look forward to some 3DS news. It might not be much, but there will be something! More 3DS goodness will come our way during the software showcase.

Here’s a little sales trivia for you. Rabbids Travel in Time 3D, one of the latest games in the franchise, has sold 250,000 units life-to-date.

Ubisoft didn’t say if these sales are specific to the U.S. or worldwide, but we do know that the game was a relative success for the company. I’m sure that’s one of the big reasons why we’re seeing Rabbids Rumble on the 3DS this year.

Nintendo has prepared an official, corporate statement regarding Nikkei’s report that surfaced a few hours ago, noting that there isn’t any truth to the rumors. The site claimed that a new 3DS model would be introduced and non-game distribution contents for Wii U would be revealed.

However, Nintendo’s statement essentially said “that the Nikkei report is not based off things announced by Nintendo, is full of mistakes and is nothing more than conjecture from the paper’s publisher”, as reported by Andriasang.

We’ll see what happens over the next 24-48 hours.

As far as we can tell, Nintendo’s E3 2012 media briefing will be all about their new baby, Wii U. But the previously announced “software showcase” will focus on their other system, the 3DS.

Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will be hosting the event. You’ll be able to view a live-stream on Wednesday at 9:00 PM EDT / 6:00 PM PDT. It’ll be an hour long.
