No, Monster Hunter Tri G hasn’t been announced for the west. But Capcom’s Christian Svensson has continued to tease an announcement.

On the company’s official forums, one fan started a topic asking why Tri G hasn’t left Japan. Svensson responded with the following:

“There is method to the madness… that’s all I can say for now. I understand it not being clear or rational to you right now but you’ll see.”

One day later, another fan began another topic with the same question. Svensson addressed the situation by saying:

“…I think it’s fair to say I’ve said everything that I can on this topic without getting myself into trouble. Please be patient.”

At this point, I could see Monster Hunter Tri G getting a localization announcement during E3. If we don’t see anything once the event ends, though, I won’t have any idea about what Capcom is planning!

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Update: Some clarification from Nintendo of America’s Facebook.

The following message was posted:

“Wondering how you’ll understand tonight’s Nintendo Direct since it’s all in Japanese? Don’t worry, we’ll be sharing North American related announcements (in English). Check back here and on our @NintendoAmerica Twitter around 8:30 PM PT to get all the news.”

So… it sounds like there will be announcements for North America. Or news. Or something. Point is, there will be something for North American Nintendo fans. Whether they share this news in the form of a Nintendo Direct video remains to be seen.

Original post:

It seems as though North America will be getting its own Nintendo Direct later tonight. At the very minimum, there will definitely be “some news” from Nintendo of America.

The company will be sharing updates beginning at 8:30 PM PST / 11:30 PM EST.

Nintendo of America tweeted just moments ago:

“We’ve got some news to share 2nite around 8:30pm PT. Be sure to check back to get the latest!”

I think I might like the North American Theatrhythm Final Fantasy boxart slightly more than the Japanese version. It just looks nice – it has the Final Fantasy 25th anniversary logo and everything!

The World Ends with You is one of the most critically-acclaimed DS games. Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura has hinted that the series could return one day on a number of different different occasions, and with character cameo appearances in Kingdom Hearts 3D, the possibility of a new game is stronger than ever before.

Nomura added more fuel to the fire in an interview with Nintendo Dream. Rhyme, Beat’s younger sister, was given a voice in Kingdom Hearts 3D. In The World Ends with You, the development team only implemented reaction voices. Nomura told the magazine that Kingdom Hearts 3D features voice acting for Rhyme “out of consideration of the future of The World Ends With You series.”

Nomura went on to tease, “Regarding The World Ends with You, I can’t say anything at present… (laughs). But there probably is something.”

Bring on The World Ends with You for 3DS (please)!

Japanese 3DS owners are finding the above note from Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in their Swapnote applications today. Iwata is holding a Kirby plushie in the photo. Some people are speculating that there will be a Kirby announcement on the show, but I’m not willing to go that far… yet.

The next Nintendo Direct will be taking place this Saturday. In North America, the broadcoast will be shown on April 20 at 11 PM EST / 8 PM PST. These presentations have been a bimonthly affair for Nintendo since October.

Satoru Iwata will be on hand to share the latest information about the 3DS and Wii. Essentially, you can expect footage, trailers, and other material for Japanese games. We’ll probably see the first trailer for Project X Zone and other upcoming releases.

Keep track of the Nintendo Direct page here. It’s currently unclear if Nintendo of America/Europe will be holding their own presentations.
