It’s in Players’ Hands to Help Aspiring Model Betsy Blake Return Home Safely

AUSTIN, Texas – August 28, 2008 Empire Interactive today announced development on Unsolved Crimes is complete. The mystery puzzle solving game will release for Nintendo DS™ on September 23, 2008. Filled with suspense, mystery and intrigue, Unsolved Crimes will be teasing brains on college campuses across the country. The game has an ESRB Rating of “T” for “Teen” and retails for $29.99.

“Unsolved Crimes is more than just a mystery-solving game with brain-teasing challenges and logical reasoning, it’s sure to please brain boosting game and core DS fans alike,” said Karim Farghaly, vice president of sales, Empire Interactive. “The appeal this title has for such a diverse audience strengthens Empire and Atari’s partnership to deliver the ultimate gaming experience.”

Fully utilizing the unique Dual Screen capabilities of Nintendo DS, Unsolved Crimes integrates three gaming elements – an action game, a 3D crime investigation and a crime quiz – to provide players with a distinctive experience. Taking the role of a rookie detective as part of the New York Police Department, players will explore the 1970’s inspired New York environments in the process of solving Betsy Blake’s mysterious disappearance. Crime is rampant in the city and Blake’s disappearance is the latest in a frightening series of events that are slowly bringing New York to its knees. With more than eight independent cases to solve in the interactive environments, players will find themselves fully immersed into the mysteries in Unsolved Crimes.

Keep in mind that these are just sales from Amazon. If I had to predict, I’d say that the Wii sales overall for the game is probably a bit less than 12%. I suppose that isn’t terrible since Nintendo owners aren’t known for snatching up sports games.

Wii/DS retail release dates

Posted on 16 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in DS, News, Wii | 0 comments

It looks like all of the recent European news has come from a retailer meeting Nintendo had last week. I’m still not 100% sold on Disaster releasing in Europe on October 24th, but I definitely hope so…That would mean Japan and America would see similar release dates (again, I hope!) Anyway, here’s a bunch of retailer release dates.

DS:

Age of Empires Mythologies (THQ) – 28.11.2008 – 39,99 Euro
Call of Duty: World at War (Activision) – 28.11.2008 – 39,99 Euro
Caslevania: Order of Ecclesia (Konami) – 17.11.2008 – 39,99 Euro
Crash: Herrscher der Mutanten (Vivendi) – 16.10.2008 – 39,99 Euro
Drawn to Life: SpongeBob (THQ) – 26.09.2008 – 39,99 Euro
Eledees: The Adventures of Kai and Zero (Konami) – 17.11.2008 – 39,99 Euro
Fifa 09 (EA Sports) – 02.10.2008 – 39,99 Euro
Flower, Sun & Rain – Mord im Paradies (Eidos) – 30.10.2008 – 39,99 Euro

It looks like people in the UK really enjoy training their brains in minutes a day. Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Age has managed to overtake Tomb Raider’s original mark of 79 consecutive weeks as the top game in the UK charts, now one less than Brain Age’s 80 weeks. This is once again excellent news for Nintendo…But it seems as though everything is going Nintendo’s ways these days.

The latest Famitsu review scores are as follows…

Blue Dragon Plus (NDS, AQ Interactive): 8 / 7 / 7 / 8 – (30/40)
Houkago no Mystery Club: 26 no Tobira (NDS, Interchannel): 4 / 6 / 4 / 5 – (19/40)
Chi’s Sweet Home: Chi ga Ouchi ni Yatte Kita! (NDS, Interchannel): 5 / 5 / 5 / 5 – (20/40)
Rainbow Pop (Wii, Interchannel): 6 / 5 / 5 / 5 – (21/40)

Update: Looks like Nintendo is pretty mum on the whole situation.

There have been rumblings for awhile that Nintendo plans to release a new DS in the somewhat near future. Last night, Matt Casamassina and Mark Bozon were speculating in their podcaast that a redesigned Nintendo DS would see the day of light, most likely without its GBA slot. Now Kotaku reports that we will see a new DS next year. Interestingly, both screens would be touch enabled instead of just the bottom screen.
