Warner Bros. announces The LEGO Movie Videogame

Warner Bros. has announced The LEGO Movie Videogame, set to launch alongside “The LEGO Movie” in 2014. A release is planned on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, 3DS, and PS Vita.
In a scenario drawn from the film, The LEGO Movie Videogame puts LEGO kids into the role of Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. Players guide him as he is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
Players can collect and use various LEGO instruction pages to create construction sets. You’ll also be able to “harness the awesome power of the Master Builders to virtually build extraordinary LEGO creations along the way.” TT Games wil be adding in over 90 playable characters and 15 levels.

Bethesda not sure if it will develop for Wii U in the future
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 1 Comment
Bethesda has once again commented on Wii U, reconfirming it has no games in development for the platform.
Speaking with MCV, Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines said that “a number of factors” would be involved for the Wii U to become more attractive. Hines noted that the situation “depends on the games that we are making and how we think it aligns with that console, and how the hardware aligns with the other stuff we are making.”
For now, Bethesda has nothing coming to Wii U, and Hines isn’t sure whether things will change in the future. “We will see”, he said.
“It’s a number of factors. The truth is, it’s not something that we are currently developing for. I don’t know whether that changes down the road or not. It depends on the games that we are making and how we think it aligns with that console, and how the hardware aligns with the other stuff we are making. We will see.”

Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 1 Comment
Capcom announced Ultra Street Fighter IV this past weekend. It brings along five new playable characters, six new stages, balancing updates, and more.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though the Wii U will be getting in on the fighting action. Street Fighter executive producer Yoshinori Ono wrote on Twitter yesterday that there aren’t any plans to bring the game to Nintendo’s home console.
He said:
so sry, we don't have plan for Wii U now… RT @FrostySphincter: No Wii U? That's a shame 🙁

Shin’en: “Wii U GPU and its API are straightforward”, easy to use
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 5 Comments
If there’s one developer that has praised the Wii U’s technical specs more than any other, it would be Shin’en. The developer has consistently stuck up for the hardware’s GPU in particular. Just a few months ago, Shin’en said that the GPU “is several generations ahead of the current gen.”
Writing on Twitter yesterday, Shin’en once again had high praise for this aspect of the Wii U. The company sent out a couple of tweets stating that the “Wii U GPU and its API are straightforward”, adding how it possesses “plenty of high bandwidth memory” and is “easy” to use.
The tweets are as follows:
@JonGryphon @IndieGamerChick @EdDiGeronimo Wii U GPU and its API are straightforward. Has plenty of high bandwidth memory. Really easy.
— Shin'en Multimedia (@ShinenGames) July 15, 2013
@JonGryphon @IndieGamerChick @EdDiGeronimo Especially easy when compared with the tricks you need to do on current gen consoles.
— Shin'en Multimedia (@ShinenGames) July 15, 2013
Shin’en also shared this nugget comparing Wii U and 3DS development:
@EdDiGeronimo @ShinenGames Getting into Wii U was much easier then 3DS. Plenty of resources, much faster dev environment.

F1 2013 not coming to Wii U
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 2 Comments
You can forget about F1 2013 coming to the Wii U.
Writing on Twitter, Codemasters creative director Steve Hood said that F1 2013 would “have to be a very different game just to run on the Wii U”. That means if you want any sort of F1 action, you’ll need to settle for F1 Race Stars Powered Up Edition.
Hood’s tweet read:
